January 8 - Bargello in the afternoon

We all reconvened at 3 to go to the Bargello and see works by Donatello, Michelangelo, and Di Vinci. The latter was a special treat as his St. John the Baptist was visiting from Paris. This piece is considered the male version of the Mona Lisa. It was so nice to see this piece up close in an intimate setting without the lines in the Louvre. We have been in close proximity to one another for several days now and several of the students have begun to resemble each other. Look at the picture of Amy and Rachel... I think the picture speaks for itself! Again, no pictures are allowed in the Bargello, but we took several pictures in the courtyard.
Tomorrow we take a bus after breakfast to Siena. Tuscany and the birth of the Renaissance here we come.
