We left at almost 8:15 am with overcast skies and temperatures hovering around 40. We took the water taxi to the train station and then boarded the "fast" train to Rome. Half our group was in car 3 and half in car 7. Many slept for part of the ride.
We arrived in Rome 5 minutes early (around 1:10 pm ) and then took 3 shuttle buses to our hotel. After dropping our luggage we headed out to explore the part of the city we were in. Finally at 7:30 pm we gathered for our first group dinner in Rome.
